The New City South Youth Ministry exists to reach youth for Christ, that they may love, grow, and follow Christ, and serve His kingdom.
The Youth of New City South are a vibrant, thoughtful, and creative community of young people, learning to follow Jesus in his work of reconciling mankind to God, to his creation, and to one another. God has drawn together youth from Liberia, Congo, USA, Burma, Kenya, and Burundi to grow together as one family: adopted sons and daughters, walking by the light of his grace. Leaders and youth are learning to discover our gifts and express our faith through Spirit-led service that reveals the justice, love, and mercy of God to our church and city.
We seek to serve youth from 6th grade through 12th grade, and we welcome youth from every ethnic group, socioeconomic, physical ability or disability, faith tradition, etc.
We do this through:
One-on-One Discipleship. Leaders in the youth ministry spend time mentoring and discipling the youth of New City, in addition to praying for and caring for them.
Midweek Youth Gathering on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:30. This is a time where youth share a meal together and fellowship, followed by singing and teaching. We conclude the evening with discussion and a time of prayer.
Service Events & Other Opportunities to Serve. Our youth have many opportunities to serve the Church such as serving in the Children’s ministry and nursery, tutoring, Workday ministry, and other outreach events throughout the year.
Other Events with Youth include several social outings (game nights, bowling, skating, etc.) throughout the year and joint events/services with youth from other churches.
